About this place
Tessa sashimi, fried fugu, tecchiri hot pot, then zosui: the courses at Tatemoto are designed to showcase fugu in a sequence of different preparations. Some diners have remarked that a single course let them appreciate the fish in several ways, from sashimi and cooked dishes to hot pot and the rice porridge served at the end.
The listed Hojo Course (7 dishes) includes yubiki, tootoumi, fried fugu, tessa, tecchiri, zosui and dessert. It is an easy choice for those who want to try a range of dishes from the first course through to the finish. One diner recalled feeling full after the course. For a shorter selection, there is also the Jukusen Course (5 dishes), with yubiki, tessa, tecchiri, zosui and dessert.
À la carte options include tessa and tecchiri, as well as fried fugu, seared fugu and shabu-shabu. Diners can choose a course or build their meal around the dishes that appeal to them.
One diner singled out the freshly fried fugu, along with the rock salt, freshly ground and served alongside it. Others have remembered the progression from the broth left after tecchiri to a soup, then zosui, as a satisfying way to end the meal.
The drinks list includes hire-zake, tsugi-zake, beer, barley and sweet-potato shochu, and highballs. Hire-zake is one option to consider with the fugu dishes. The meal can continue through to zosui and dessert, both included in the courses.
Private rooms are available, and the restaurant is described as suitable for group meals.
